About
Penny Thornton has been an astrologer for many years. She studied with the Faculty of Astrological Studies gaining their diploma (D.F. Astrol.S) - an award that was withdrawn in 1995 in the wake of a media fandango over her six-year association with the late Princess of Wales. In 1990 she qualified as a psychotherapist with the School of Therapeutic Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy.
Considered a maverick by many colleagues Penny has nevertheless taught for the Faculty of Astrological Studies and examined for them. She has lectured at international conventions all over the world and her first book, SYNASTRY - THE ASTROLOGY OF RELATIONSHIPS (1981) was required reading in the Faculty syllabus.
In 1986, she joined the English magazine PRIMA as its astrologer. And until 1992 she combined her pop-astrologer role with that of astrological consultant, seeing her clients at home in Hampshire and in London. 1986 also saw the publication of her second book, SUNS AND LOVERS - published in paper-back in 1988 and re-titled ROMANCING THE STARS. In 1989 a third book, THE FORCES OF DESTINY, was published and this was followed in 1991 by DIVINE ENCOUNTERS: A New Kind of Loving for a New Age of Living.
